This feature will work for users signed into imo’s Android beta app, and will provide another great way to keep in touch with friends and family that will make you feel like you’re right there with them. Select the video icon to the right of their name3. When the drawer opens, choose the video iconOnce the video chat has started, you have the option to mute your microphone, turn off your camera, switch between speaking into your headset or through the phone’s speakers, or go back to your chats. imo’s Android Beta app has been updated to allow users to view YouTube thumbnail images in their Broadcasts feed, as well as to invite friends through SMS.This update brings even more rich content to the Broadcasts feed, where users can also upload photos. To embed a YouTube video into a Broadcast, open up a YouTube video in the YouTube app. Then, select the three vertical squares in the top right, and choose “Share.” Select “imo beta Broadcast.” You can also post a YouTube link in the Broadcasts feed on the web, and the thumbnail will still appear in the app.To invite a friend to imo through SMS, go to the Menu of the app, then scroll down and choose “Invite Friends.” Select the friends you’d like to invite by tapping the gray check mark next to their name. Once they’re selected, the check mark will turn green. When you’re ready to invite your friends, press the blue “Invite” button. If your friends join, you’ll receive benefits such as more CP. Missed message emails will only be sent to you if you have added that person in your contact list.Verifying your email address will make your account more secure, and allow for you to receive important notifications from imo and your friends. Both imo’s Android and Android Beta apps have incorporated the WebP image format, which allows for photos you upload and share to be about 30 percent smaller in size (compared to JPEG images) without losing their quality. One user asked about hotel recommendations in Lima, Peru for an upcoming trip. She also posted in a few other social sites but didn’t receive a response. On imo, several people joined the discussion and gave recommendations. One imo user from Lima even offered to help her speak Spanish before her trip. imo is unable to support Skype due to our inability to connect to their servers, and unfortunately we don’t know if we’ll be able to support Skype anytime soon as it depends on factors out of our control. However, we’ve added a function so that users can now download their Skype chat history through imo if they had their Skype account linked to another account through imo as of May 2, 2013 at 7 p.m. PST. Broadcast feed photos are now available on imo’s iPhone, iPad and Android apps!If you are an imo Premium Account user on the web, you can now upload photos to the “Broadcasts” feed in our apps. If you’re not, you’ll still be able to view the photos. Try uploading photos today for an even richer messaging experience!On iPhone, click the pencil in the top right of the Broadcasts feed. Then choose the photo icon at the bottom left of the box to upload an existing photo. Or, if you’d rather take a new photo, click “Camera” in the bottom left once the Camera Roll page loads. On iPad, click the pencil in the top right of the Broadcasts feed for the Broadcast entry box to appear to the right. Then choose the photo icon at the bottom left of the box to upload an existing photo. On Android, click the pencil in the bottom left of the Broadcasts tab, then choose the camera icon (left) to take a photo to upload, or the gallery icon (right) to choose an existing photo to upload. Once your post is ready, click “Broadcast” in the upper right. We’ve added the option to upload photos to the Broadcasts feed for imo Android Beta users! We hope this addition will make your messaging experience even richer. If you are a Premium Account user on the web, you have the option to upload photos to the feed in the Android Beta app. Just click the pencil in the bottom left of the Broadcasts tab, then choose the camera icon (left) to take a photo to upload, or the gallery icon (right) to choose an existing photo to upload.
